“I joined the Consortium because of the urgent need to reimagine and rebuild the public health workforce of the future. We need to leverage the lessons from the pandemic as well as opportunities to support community-based workers who were critical extensions of public health departments and their services. At the same time, we must also invest in the growth and development of current public health staff at all levels across state, tribal and local departments to meet future needs of those served.”
