The Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals, revised and adopted by the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice in October 2021, are a consensus set of competencies for health departments and others to use in assessing training needs; developing training, job descriptions, and workforce development plans; and building workforce skills and competence.
